I am always slow to purchase new products as often I don’t buy into the marketing hype. I have followed a company called, “KUIU” since they were just a blog called “Building KUIU“. Last year, I finally needed to upgrade my hunting clothing, so I purchased numerous KUIU products . I wanted to share a little bit about my experience with KUIU and show you guys that I put the gear through my own personal test before throwing out a random endorsement.

My thoughts on Endorsing Products?
Like any other media outlet, I am flawed with regards to endorsing products. When you are in the industry and part of your revenue streams come from sponsor deals or paid advertising, there is no way possible to not favor who will pay your bills or who might pay your bills. I honestly take most product reviews I watch or read with a grain of salt, because I know our human nature will ultimately show favoritism.
Personally, I try to write and film product reviews or endorsements from both the consumer and product companies perspective. Unfortunately, this means you won’t find me writing or endorsing any products before I test them out in the field, because I just don’t see the value in endorsing something I have never used in the field. I know not everyone is me, but too me, it’s a big freaking deal if you endorse something with your “Name”.
100+ days of field testing
After guiding, hunting & scouting 100+ days in the Southwest’s unforgiving terrain, I will say, KUIU Hunting Gear is some of the most comfortable and functional clothing I have ever worn. I purchased all outerwear products, except for their bino harness. The only draw back I found was their Attack Pants could have been built a little more durable, as some of the stitching came undone on the pockets and rear end. I will be buying more KUIU Hunting Gear before the 2015-16 season begins, because I value the fit, comfort and light weight of their products.
My KUIU Gear was worn from August 2014-March 2015:
FYI-KUIU doesn’t have a prostaff, I am not an affiliate and I paid full retail price for the gear I wore this past season.
So, why is KUIU on top of the hunting gear industry?
I recently listened to Jason Hairston on the Jay Scott Outdoors Podcast and it again reassured me of why KUIU is the leader in the hunting gear space. Jason just understands how to build, market and sell quality products in today’s world. I have become a fan of not only KUIU as a brand, but Jason as a leader in the hunting business world.
