If you want to go hunting in the best public land areas in the west, you have x3 options:

1.  Apply via the regular Western Big Game Draws.  Almost all the state draw systems are now based on point systems, which are intended to help give those who have waited longer a better chance at drawing.   Most of the best public land hunts will take years or actually decades to draw.

2.  Raffle Tags aka Dream Tags or Super Tags.  These raffles do not have point systems and most of them allow you to buy unlimited tickets.  Essentially, the more tickets you buy, the better your odds.  Here is a link to more information regarding all of the Western Big Game Raffle Tags

3.  Auction or Governor Tags.  Most people, like me, will not be able to afford these tags, so we better get back to work or win the lottery.  Maybe one day!

I am currently waiting on the Arizona Sheep & Deer draw to take place, but the rest of my regular hunting draw applications were unsuccessful.  I am now looking over the raffle hunt options and I have narrowed my choices to these:

I have previously bought tickets for the Arizona & Nevada raffle tag programs, but this is the first year for Wyoming’s Super Tag program.  At just 10 dollars a ticket, it’s well worth the money!
