No Excuses-2013 Utah Archery Elk Hunt *Final Episode

Craig Steele’s final 2013 Utah Archery Elk Hunt footage #NoExcuses.

Why No Excuses?

I started using the term, “No Excuses”  in the films, because I was tired of myself & others, crying over our lack of success in hunting.  The envy & jealousies are contaminating our ethics.  The term “sportsmen”, seems to be losing value.  We are all guilty.

Why didn’t I hire a Guide?

Honestly, I didn’t want to.  I prefer to hunt on my own.

Over the years, I have discovered how I measure success is different than I once did.  I love giant animals & I love challenging my own abilities.  I am a trophy hunter, but I don’t think hunting success is measured in just inches.  Everyone has their own opinions, this is mine.

FYI-I guide in AZ, so I am not anti-outfitters or guided hunts.  I love to hunt with passionate people.  People who really love to hunt and have respect for others.  Far too often, we as a society, are jealous of what we don’t have or haven’t accomplished.  Your wallet size , does not define you as a person.

In short, what I am saying…  Don’t judge a person by whether he or she goes guided or unguided.

Yeah, but you have more time than me?

False. Excuses!

We all have the same amount of time in a year, day, hour, minute & second.  We never know when the good lord will call, but we can’t control this.

I would be willing to bet you make more money than I do & I am not going to use that as an excuse.  I would also bet (like most business owners), I work more hours than you.

How much do you want it?  How much do you value success?  I know I value hunting more than most.  This has NOTHING to do with money or time.  Most guys value TV, Fantasy Football, UFC, Golfing & other hobbies.  These all rank below hunting in my value system.

You can’t have Success, without failure.

If you have seen all of the No Excuses web vids, you know I fail.

We  fail every day while hunting and that is what makes you push to succeed.  That is what drives most of us.

Failure is going to happen, so can you dust yourself off and keep grinding???
